Two
Arkansas chemistry professors have been arrested for allegedly making
meth in a case being likened to TV hit “Breaking Bad.”
45-year-old Terry David Bateman and 40-year-old Bradley Allen Rowland
were arrested Friday afternoon and face charges of manufacturing
methamphetamine and using drug paraphernalia. It closely resembles
the plot of the TV hit show whose central character, Walter White,
was a teacher who turned to drug production. Officials did not say
where the professors at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia are
alleged to have produced the drugs. However, the investigation
coincided with a science lab at the university being forced to close
early last month over reports of an “undetermined chemical odor.”
Tests found benzyl chloride, a chemical closely monitored by the U.S.
Drug Enforcement Administration which can be used to synthesize
amphetamines. The two professors were put on administrative leave on
October 1st. They were arrested Friday afternoon by Clark County
Sheriff’s Department. Both are expected to appear in District Court
once a formal charging decision is made by the
prosecutor.(https://bit.ly/2r6YWkY)

Two women stole a pair of guinea pigs from a Kentucky pet store and tossed one of them at the owner during their escape. 21-year-old Isabelle Mason and 19-year-old and Jaimee Pack were slapped with multiple charges following the bizarre incident that took place at Pet Paradise in Danville. Owner Scott Gonyaw told TV station WKYT that Mason and Pack took the guinea pigs from the store without paying for them. Gonyaw tried to confront them. “I started screaming at them, ‘Give me the guinea pigs!’ And the other little girl reached down, got one of them out of the bag went to give it out to me, and the other girl pulled her back into the car,” Gonyaw told the station. He said that one of the suspects rolled down a window and threw a four-month-old guinea pig named Lucky onto the concrete. The other woman ran over Gonyaw’s foot with the car. Even though the suspects got away, they were ratted out by one of their mothers, who called the police. Mason and Pack were charged with shoplifting, robbery, and cruelty to animals and are being held at the Boyle County Detention Center.

A
Florida man was arrested on Friday for allegedly slugging an umpire
in the face at his nephew’s little league baseball game.
22-year-old Alberto Ramos disagreed with one of the ump’s calls and
confronted him after the game to complain. Things escalated, with
Ramos raising his voice and the umpire asking him to leave the
ballpark. Instead of leaving, the hothead began raging, telling the
ump that he would “kick his ass.” He then punched the ump in the
face, cutting the man’s lip and breaking one of his teeth. Sherriff
Grady Judd said, “This is completely inexcusable — assaulting a
little league official while he’s officiating at a game where
children are supposed to be having fun, and learning sportsmanlike
behavior.” Ramos was charged with one count of felony battery of a
sports official and released on a $1,000 bond.
