THIS WEEK'S DEAR JOHN LETTER!
Dear John,

I'm not sure what to say to my family. I moved half way across the country for my job. I'm working all the time and still can barely afford to live. I moved here about a year ago and I sent a little Christmas present to my family last year. They want me to come home to visit for Christmas, but if I do that I'm not going to be able to get anyone any gifts. Should I stay here and send a gift or go there empty-handed? My family has told me how proud they are that I'm doing so well, so I'm afraid to tell them how tough things have been, but it's just been one unexpected expense after another this year. I can pick up extra hours over the holidays to get caught up, so I'm leaning towards that, but I wonder if you have some advice for me.

Signed- Presents Or Presence?

Florida Gators fan Christopher Honey, of Bend, Oregon, was arrested Saturday for the attempted murder of his lifelong friend as the two argued over the LSU-Alabama game, leaving the friend with birdshot in the back of his head and neck and Honey in the Deschutes County jail. Cops say Honey went back to watching the game after shooting his friend and eventually surrendered without incident after finishing the game. Police say alcohol was a likely a factor in the shooting. Honey is in fact a former Florida Man who had some past legal issues including a 2010 for misdemeanor domestic violence battery in Okaloosa, Florida, and convictions in Tennessee between 1987 and 2009 for aggravated assault, ID theft, and two DUIs. WEIRD NEWS: Brought to you by WeirdGiftOfTheDay.com
A woman enjoying a manicure at a North Carolina nail salon witnessed an unusual sight — workers chopping up deer meat in plain sight. Morgan Taylor posted about her bizarre experience on Facebook last Thursday, including a photo of a salon worker at Diamond Nails in High Point, N.C. kneeling down on the floor while cutting hunks of meat. “Hunting for a new nail salon in High Point, North Carolina? Talk about multitaskers … manicures, pedicures, and amateur deer butchers. Oh deer!” Taylor wrote, along with hashtag “notfawned” and “ohbuckno.” Taylor told WXII-TV that she was at the salon last Wednesday getting her nails done for her sister’s Saturday wedding when the butchering occurred. Taylor said the workers placed the meat atop a tarp on the ground and sliced it without gloves. She said that others in the salon, including customers, seemed unfazed by the sight. The incident was reported by Taylor to the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts. They are investigating whether the nail salon violated any codes. (https://bit.ly/2KVbhA6)

An Arizona felon is back behind bars following his arrest last Saturday night on a grand theft burrito charge. According to investigators, 29-year-old Timothy Bell approached a man on a Phoenix street and “took that person’s property by force” while making “threatening statements.” After having his burrito stolen, the victim called 9-1-1 and followed Bell until police located the ex-con and arrested him on a downtown Phoenix street around 8:40 PM. Bell, who is listed as a transient in court records, was found in possession of a “wrapper from burrito he stole.” Bell was booked into the Maricopa County jail on a felony robbery charge for which no bond has been set. He is scheduled to be arraigned on December 6th in Superior Court. Bell’s rap sheet includes two separate state prison terms and convictions for weapons possession, disorderly conduct, trespassing, and narcotics possession. (https://bit.ly/2OP89qj)
