THIS
WEEK'S DEAR JOHN LETTER!
Dear
John,
I've
been invited to a gender reveal party. I've never been to one of
these before. I asked another person if we're expected to bring a
gift and she thought that was the proper thing to do. So, do I buy
something that is gender neutral or a gift card? Have you ever done
this? Back when I had my kids, we didn't play these games. We did a
shower and that worked well. Not sure when these parties became such
a big thing. It seems pretty weird to me. Just wondering if I should
bring something, maybe for mom and dad? Any ideas?

A
Florida Man whose Ford truck carries a “Don’t Drink & Drive”
bumper sticker was arrested Friday night for drunk driving after he
“rear ended a stopped vehicle in front of him.” 56-year-old
Sergio Ferreira was driving “about 35-40 mph” when he slammed
into a car at an intersection near his home in Largo. The impact
caused the second vehicle to go forward and strike another car. The
occupants of the other autos did not require hospital treatment. When
contacted by police, Ferreira “staggered as he walked, swayed as he
stood” and smelled of alcohol. Ferreira, who refused to provide a
breath sample, was arrested after performing poorly on a series of
field sobriety tests. Ferreira reportedly told police that he had
consumed “four 18-20 ounce” cans of Busch Light beer “earlier
in the night prior to driving.” Ferreira was booked into the county
jail on a misdemeanor DUI involving property damage charge.

Police in North Carolina arrested a man who they say stripped naked at a church and punched a church member in the head. Gastonia police told news outlets 39-year-old Christopher Patton Gossage became disruptive inside H.I.S. Frontline Ministry on Sunday. When church leaders tried to escort Gossage out, investigators say he took off his shirt, ran inside and grabbed the preacher. He was taken outside, where he took off the rest of his clothes and threw a punch. Police said officers struggled with Gossage during his arrest and said he tried to avoid handcuffs by spitting on an officer and trying to bite another officer. Police charged Gossage with indecent exposure and several misdemeanors. He's in jail on bond. It's not known if he has an attorney who can comment.

MOMENT OF DUH: Brought to you by SingleStudentLoan.com
A
36-year-old Arkansas man is in custody after he called in a fake
threat to the Baxter County Jail around 10:45 a.m. on December 1st.
The Baxter County Detention Center received a call from a man telling
the officers to release all the prisoners. When asked why, the caller
replied “Because the place is about to explode.” Caller ID gave
the jail staff the phone number the call had come from. When
cross-referenced with the jail’s records, the number matched with a
number a man had given when he was booked at the jail in March. The
release said that Jailers called the number back and received the
voicemail of Jason Patnou. After searching the jail and finding
nothing suspicious, a sheriff’s deputy went to the address of
Patnou that was given in the March booking. According to the release,
Patnou was naked and intoxicated when he answered the door. The
release also said that Patnou’s phone had saved a record of where
he had called the jail’s number. Patnou was arrested and charged
with falsely communicating a terroristic threat, a Class-B felony.
