A 27-year-old Louisianan named Franklin Redfearn was arrested Friday evening for narcotics possession, after he told cops that “the devil framed him.” Responding to a 9-1-1 call about a suspicious person, police found Redfearn standing on a porch of a residence in West Monroe. According to a police report, Redfearn lives about twenty miles away in the town of Eros. As a sheriff’s deputy approached him, Redfearn allegedly threw a white pill bottle containing methamphetamine into the yard. After being read his rights, Redfearn “stated the devil framed him.” Despite that compelling explanation, Redfearn was arrested on a felony narcotics possession count and booked into the local jail, where he is being held on $3000 bond. Redfearn appears to be the sole individual charged in the meth case. (https://bit.ly/35hvUOG)

According to a report from the Akron Police Department, a McDonald’s employee was stabbed by a customer who became irrationally upset over the cost of his McDouble order. 63-year-old Darrell Roberts was charged with felonious assault after he pulled a knife on a female employee after he began arguing with her over his order. The female employee told police that Roberts came into the McDonald’s on East Market Street and began arguing with her about the cost of his order, which included two McDoubles and a large coffee. The employee said Robert called her a racial slur. At that point, she told him he wasn’t getting any food and that he had to leave. Roberts pulled out a knife and walked around the counter to confront the employee. He swung a knife at her and cut the employee on her left forearm. Other employees inside the restaurant were able to get the knife out of his possession and escort him out. Police located Roberts and he admitted he was upset over allegedly being overcharged for two McDoubles. He admitted to having the knife, but said he left it inside the restaurant. Roberts was arrested and taken to the Summit County Jail. (https://bit.ly/2Lcauei)
