Eating 2 eggs per day could actually lower your “bad” LDL cholesterol, according to University of South Australia researchers — but only when part of a low-saturated fat diet. They found that saturated fat intake, not dietary cholesterol, is directly linked to heart disease risk. In a finding that could reshape how we think about breakfast and heart health, the scientists concluded that eggs are not cholesterol villains, and the real problem may have been lurking in butter, full-fat dairy, and fatty meats all along.

BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN

Calling all “Friends” fans: An extremely cool installation just opened in Las Vegas, and among the highlights is the fact that you can get married in a replica of the chapel where ‘Ross’ (played by David Schwimmer) and Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Rachel’ got married in the season 5 finale “The One in Vegas.” “The Friends Experience: The One in Vegas” is now open at the MGM Grand, “inviting fans to step into the world of the legendary series — this time in the city that played host to one of the show’s most memorable storylines,” according to the press release.

Eddie Murphy let slip some major “Shrek” news during a new interview. While promoting his upcoming film “The Pickup”, he was asked about his upcoming role in “Shrek 5”. Murphy said he’s currently recording his parts, but then, he’ll start recording dialogue for a ‘Shrek’ spinoff film centered around his beloved character, ‘Donkey’. Quote: “We start in September on Donkey — we’re doing a Donkey one, and that’ll [be released] 3 years from now.” Murphy has teased a Donkey movie in the past, but these are his most substantive comments yet.

DID YA KNOW!?

Our solar system has a wall. The heliopause – the region of space in which solar wind isn’t hot enough to push back the wind of particles coming from distant stars – is often considered the “boundary wall” of the Solar System and interstellar space.

JOKE OF THE DAY

SCOOP OF THE DAY

By peeing in the shower, you can save about 1,160 gallons of water a year.

How often have you heard someone say something like: “He gets his sense of humor from his dad”? Or from his (or her) Mom? Well, it turns out being funny might not be in your DNA after all. A new study led by Dr. Gil Greengross looked at over 1,300 sets of twins to see if being able to make people laugh — called “humor production ability” — is inherited. Surprisingly, it’s not. While identical twins share all their genes, they weren’t much more similar in joke-telling skills than fraternal ones. The study had participants write cartoon captions and be rated by judges — and the results showed environment mattered to one’s sense of humor more than genetics. The Sklar brothers, who are twin comedians, agree: being raised in a joke-filled household can shape your funny bone. As Jason Sklar put it, “humour is currency in the house” — and kids definitely cash in.

WEIRD NEWS

Well… this is a breakfast plot twist. Cinnamon Toast Crunch just dropped a bacon-flavored cereal — and yep, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Teaming up with Hormel Black Label, the new limited-edition snack mixes sweet Cinnadust with smoky bacon vibes, all packed into crunchy cereal squares. It launched this week, only on Walmart.com, for $5.84. If you’re thinking “why?” — you’re not alone. Social media is very divided. Some people are dying to try it, while others are gagging at the idea of “cinnamon hot dog cereal.” Still, this isn’t their first rodeo — last year they dropped Cinnamon Toast Crunch-flavored bacon. Now it’s flipped: bacon in your cereal. Sweet? Savory? Snackable? Strange? All of the above. Try it by the bowl, bag, or even by the handful — if you dare.

HEIDI HAS SOMETHING SPECIAL

(FROM HEIDI)

THE LIST

MOVIES THAT ARE BETTER THAN THE BOOK:

➢ Jurassic Park: Michael Crichton’s novel was thrilling, but Spielberg’s 1993 film perfected it — tighter storytelling, unforgettable characters, and endlessly quotable lines (Such as Jeff Goldblum’s “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.”) Add in groundbreaking practical effects (hello, animatronic T. rex) and you’ve got a cinematic masterpiece that still roars today.

➢ The Talented Mr. Ripley: Patricia Highsmith’s novel is slow-burn psychological suspense, but the 1999 film starring Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow is sleeker, more suspenseful, and emotionally intense. With bolder takes on Ripley’s psychology and a shocking ending, the movie enhances the original’s intrigue and depth.

➢ Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: Le CarrĂ©’s novel is brilliant, but the 2011 film starring adds elegance and focus, with Gary Oldman delivering a career-defining performance. Visually stunning and expertly paced, it captures the cold war’s mood better than words ever could.

➢ The Devil Wears Prada: The movie sharpens the book’s workplace drama with a smarter script and a knockout cast led by Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. It trades romance for ambition and career realism—and suddenly, cerulean is cultural canon.

➢ The Social Network: David Fincher turned a shaky nonfiction book into a razor-sharp character study of tech ambition and isolation starring Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg. It’s a better story precisely because it doesn’t care about the facts—and that’s the point. (Points deducted for Justin Timberlake’s role as Sean Parker…)

Clear and Present Danger: Tom Clancy’s doorstop of a novel gets trimmed into a fast-paced thriller with Harrison Ford as the moral compass in a sea of corruption. Less military jargon, more political drama — plus, a memo duel for the ages!
