SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH
So, how long does it really take to get over an ex? Turns out, a lot longer than we thought. While the old rule of thumb says “half the time you were together,” new research published in Social Psychological suggests it might actually take around 8 years — yes, years — to fully move on. According to the study, people were only halfway over their exes after about 4 years. Why so long? Well, love isn’t just emotional — it’s neurological. Our brains get hooked on all that dopamine and oxytocin during relationships, and when it ends, it’s basically withdrawal. Breakups also mimic grief, which doesn’t follow a neat, 5-stage checklist. One minute you’re fine, the next you’re crying over their old playlist. And if your identity got tangled up with theirs (which happens a lot), the loss can feel like losing a part of yourself. Bottom line: If you’re still not over your ex, you’re not broken — you’re human. And healing takes time. Apparently, a lot more time that many of us thought.
BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN
“The Real Housewives of Potomac” is regaining a former cast member. Monique Samuels will be returning to the Bravo franchise after 5 years. A source told People: “Monique’s in a totally different place now, and fans will see that.” After joining the show for Season 2, Samuels walked away from the show after Season 5, saying: “It’s not easy doing reality TV and, to be quite honest, I’m over it.” But the insider said “She’s excited to show who she is now — not as a wife, not as just a mom, but as a woman starting over and taking on life on her own terms.”
Jason Biggs got candid about his previous cocaine addiction in a recent podcast appearance, revealing he hit rock bottom when he “climbed into the trash bin” to grab the last of his drugs. Quote: “I lived in the gray area, but I have ‘snorting dust off the floor’ stories.” The “American Pie” star admitted his early fame worsened his addiction as he “learned very quickly” that people rarely said no to a famous 22-year-old “with money in the bank and coke in my pocket.” He’s remained sober for the last 7 years.
Apple TV+ has released the trailer for its new disaster thriller “The Lost Bus,” starring Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey. The film, based on the book “Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire” by Lizzie Johnson, follows “a wayward school bus driver (McConaughey) and a dedicated school teacher (America Ferrera) [who] battle to save 22 children from the terrifying inferno,” according to the official logline. “The Last Bus” comes to Apple TV+ and select theaters this fall. DID YA KNOW!?
The iconic Goodyear Blimp is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The airship embarked on its maiden flight in 1925, taking tire advertising to new heights. During World War II, Goodyear blimps watched over US Navy ships. In 1955, Goodyear floated into the sports world, helping fans enjoy a bird’s-eye view of their favorite events. According to the company, there are fewer blimp pilots in the world than astronauts. And that might explain why a Goodyear Blimp pilot can make up to $170,000 annually – plus bonuses.

OF THE DAY
A survey says that 6% of us say they’ve called out sick for work in order to binge watch our favorite TV show.
Forget the countdowns, group chats, and Instagram-perfect itineraries—have you tried a sneaky trip? Also known as a “hush vacation” or “impulse getaway,” this travel trend is all about disappearing for a few days — without telling the world (or your social media). Travel expert Loren Christie says it’s about being present — no live posting, no rigid schedule, just soaking it all in. The rules? Keep it short (3-4 days), don’t announce your plans, skip the social media until you’re back, and leave the overplanning behind. According to Mastercard’s latest travel trends report, more people are ditching prestige travel for private, meaningful experiences — and valuing flexibility and spontaneity over packed agendas. Christie’s recent sneaky trip? A weekend in Paris. But if Europe’s a stretch, he suggests Bermuda for east coasters or Dawson City, Yukon for a uniquely Canadian escape. His only serious advice? Let one person know where you’re going — just in case you sneak a little TOO well.

WEIRD NEWS
Who knew? We’ve been eating bananas wrong the whole time. That’s according to Britain’s top etiquette expert, William Hanson. In a video that’s now gone viral, he insists the only “proper” way to eat a banana is with a knife and fork. Yup, really. In the clip, he says: “No, we don’t pick it up and peel it like a primate”, while demonstrating how to slice off each end, score the skin, peel it back, and daintily eat it with utensils — like it’s a fancy filet. Naturally, the internet had thoughts. One person joked: “Bruh, you offended the entire world.” Another asked: “Can you also show us how to eat a coconut with cutlery?” Hanson’s banana advice follows his previous tips, which include cutting grapes off the bunch with scissors, instead of plucking them. Because apparently, even fruit needs a formal invitation. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/3ycsr2p9
