When you’re not feeling well, would you rather talk to a doctor– or a computer? A new University of Maine study suggests that AI might actually give you more accurate medical answers than a human doctor—but there’s a catch. Researchers analyzed over 7,000 medical questions, comparing responses from AI systems and real doctors in the US and Australia. The verdict? AI scored high on accuracy, professionalism, and clarity—often earning 8 out of 10. But while the facts were spot-on, AI lacked something critical: empathy. Patients don’t just want the right answer—they want to feel heard. That’s where human doctors win. Their responses showed more emotion, offered reassurance, and showed that they were “there” for their patients. As researcher Kelley Strout put it, healing often comes from human connection—something no algorithm can replicate, no matter how smart it gets. The team concluded that AI should support, not replace, healthcare professionals.

Amanda Seyfried says Paramount Pictures owes her money. The “Mean Girls” alum called out the studio for allegedly using her “likeness” on merchandise for the 2004 teen classic without giving her proper compensation. In a conversation with Adam Brody on Variety’s Actors on Actors series, she said: “I really love seeing my face on people’s T shirts. I mean, I’m a little resentful, because Paramount still owes me some money.” According to her, she doesn’t recall ever signing a merchandising deal, but conceded: “I don’t know if it was because I was 17 and dumb, or what.”

Apple recently held its annual WWDC conference, where it announced the next version of iOS for the iPhone, iOS 26. But the current version number of iOS is 18. So, what happened to iOS 19 through 25? The simple reason is that Apple has decided to align the iPhone operating system version number with the current calendar year. And while this is 2025, the lifetime of the new OS will mostly happen in 2026. iOS 26 will be in developer beta this summer and will officially launch to the public in September 2025. Expect iOS 27 to be ready for fall 2026.

Did you ever have the thought after failing at another diet: “Well THAT was a total waste of time and effort”? Think again — research shows that even unsuccessful weight-loss attempts can benefit your health. A large NIH study tracked people who tried losing at least 5 pounds multiple times over 2 decades. The surprising finding: even if you gained the weight back, those who kept trying had lower mortality than people who never tried. That’s because each attempt involved healthier habits—like eating better and moving more—which gradually stacked up to real benefits. As Dr. Sonja Berndt puts it: The more you try—even if you fail—the better off you are: those efforts add up into real health gains over time. So, keep at it—each try counts.

A group of squatters who took over a house in Spain has installed an alarm system — to prevent others from breaking into their illegally occupied home. According to one local in San Miguel de Pedroso, “they have placed a sign belonging to the company that installed the alarm in the building to prevent what happened to the owner of that house from happening to them.” Residents say the squatters had been eyeing the property for some time, and after learning that no one had lived there for about 2 decades, they decided to move in. Now, others are afraid that their houses could be at risk of being illegally occupied by strangers.
