On average, Americans say $74,000 is the yearly salary that would make them happy, according to new survey from Talker Research. The survey of 2,000 adults, found that while $74K represents the average “perfect salary,” not everyone agrees on what would make them financially happy. One in 5 say they’d need 6-figures to enjoy their lifestyle properly. Beyond salary, 28% want better benefits, 20% want improved work-life balance, and 20% want more flexibility, a reminder that total compensation and quality of life both matter.

Even Quentin Tarantino has a favorite Tarantino movie. In a recent podcast, the 2-time Oscar winner revealed which of his films is his favorite — and which he thinks is his best. Quote: “‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is my favorite, ‘Inglorious Bastards’ is my best.” But he also said that “Kill Bill” “is the ultimate Quentin movie”, because “nobody else could’ve made it.” He summed things up by saying: “Kill Bill is the movie I was born to make, I think Inglorious Bastards is my masterpiece, but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is my favorite.”
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be back on Netflix for a third season of hairography, high kicks and jump splits. Production on Season 3 is underway and the new episodes are focused on the new 2025-26 squad, led by longtime senior director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell, as they prepare for the NFL season to kick off next month. The first 2 seasons of “America’s Sweethearts” were a massive hit for Netflix. Season 3 will debut in early 2026.
Spike Lee‘s docuseries about former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been scrapped. ESPN said that the network, along with Kaepernick and Lee “have collectively decided to no longer proceed with this project as a result of certain creative differences.” In 2022, it was announced that they had teamed up for a documentary series about the former NFL star’s life. It was promised to be the first “full, first-person account” of Kaepernick’s journey and a return to the sports documentary world for Lee, following his 2009 ESPN film “Kobe Doin’ Work,” which centered on legendary Laker Kobe Bryant.

Calling all golden retriever parents! With Air Bud Returns set to hit theaters next summer, casting is officially underway to find the next four-legged basketball star. And for the first time in the soon-to-be 15-film franchise, the search is going nationwide with an open casting call for the next good boy or girl. In other words, a future Hollywood celeb could be the pup sitting next to you right now. Here are the required canine qualifications: “We need a dog who is a purebred golden retriever, who’s athletic and, ideally, he would love basketball, just like the original Air Bud,” lead animal trainer Mark Forbes said in a video announcement. A press release also calls out some other key qualities the team is looking for, including charm and heart. In case you need a refresher, the Air Bud from the 1997 film could nail baskets with his nose, had a soft spot for vanilla pudding, and was the ultimate MVP on and off the court. The pup in real life (also named Buddy) wasn’t so different from his on-screen character. Kevin Zegers, who played Josh, Buddy’s human best friend, recalled to The Athletic in 2020: “Buddy was the best. I’m not super sentimental but he was truly one of the most sweet, fantastic dogs I’ve ever been around, and he’s the reason that I’ve always had dogs since. … You know, he was a superstar.” If you think your pup may, too, be a superstar, owners across the U.S. can throw their dog’s name in the ring by submitting an application on the official Air Bud website https://returns.airbud.com/ and dog-loving fans can get in on the action by following the journey on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/airbudofficial

It’s state fair season across the U.S., which means it’s butter sculpture season. In Minnesota, the annual state fair kicks off with the crowning of the latest “Princess Kay of the Milky Way” — and then the carving of her likeness out of a 90-pound block of butter. This year, the princess is 20-year-old Malorie Thorson, who bundled up in a coat and gloves to pose for her butter sculpture in a studio set to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. https://apnews.com/article/minnesota-state-fair-

To what great lengths would you go to save your phone? For millions of people, the answer is: way, way too far. A new survey by D3O, a leading manufacturer of protective equipment, found that today’s smartphone owners aren’t just attached to their devices…they’re pretty much willing to sacrifice dignity, safety — and even travel plans to rescue them. The survey revealed that 59% of us would dive into a pool fully clothed at a wedding to save their phone. 54% said they’d fish their phone out of a festival toilet, and 56% would climb into a dumpster. Why such extremes? Phones are no longer just gadgets; they’re vaults for our photos, wallets, work, friends, entertainment – and our daily sanity. That’s why breaking one doesn’t just hurt your bank account — it can feel like losing a part of yourself. Here’s some more survey results:
• 51% would miss an international flight
• 20% would risk climbing onto subway tracks
• 25% say losing/breaking their phone is worse than crashing their car or losing their child in a store
• 33% have cried over a broken phone
• 38% would rather lose their wallet than their phone
• 60% drop their phone at least 10 times a year
• 50% have dropped their phone in a toilet
• 62% use a case and screen protector, but 12% use no protection at all
