Gen Z is leaning on their parents more and more these days – even in the workplace. New survey stats from ResumeTemplates show a shocking 77% have dragged a parent to job interviews — 44% in person, and 27% helping negotiate salary. Once hired, 79% let mom or dad hound their managers about raises or days off. Parents are also filling out applications (63%), writing resumes (31%) and cover letters (29%), and even doing test assignments (48%). Critics worry this type of coddling stunts independence.

“Dexter: Original Sin” is not returning for Season 2 after all. Paramount has opted not to move forward with another season of the prequel series. A Season 2 renewal announcement went out in April, but now, sources say the series has actually been on hiatus and there are no plans to shoot a second season. Paramount is planning to assemble a group of writers for a potential Season 2 of “Dexter: Resurrection,” a follow-up to “Dexter” and “Dexter: New Blood”, in which Michael C. Hall stars in the title role once again. The “Original Sin” season finale is set for Sept. 5.
Ben Affleck is reportedly furious after his ex-partner, Gwyneth Paltrow, dished on his bedroom secrets. Paltrow seemingly revealed details of their intimate acts in a new tell-all book “Gwyneth: The Biography,” by Amy Odell. Shortly after the biography went live, a source said the actor doesn’t like that his private life was laid bare for the public to peek at, and that he “feels completely exposed.”
“Good Boy”, a haunted house film told from the perspective of a dog, will now receive a wide release from IFC. The company previously planned to only give the film a limited release. But the first trailer for the movie barked up over 1 million views on YouTube within 4 days. That spawned immediate viral online concern for the dog’s well-being, as Google searches for prompts like “does the dog in Good Boy die” jumped by over 2,000 percent. The film hits theaters Oct. 3. Here’s a first: Two months after dropping “KPop Demon Hunters” on Netflix, the streamer is putting the animated hit in theaters, and not just the obligatory Oscar-qualifying run its prestige titles get in New York and LA. Demon Hunters is hitting more than 1,700 venues, for karaoke-captioned screenings in which audience participation is encouraged. The film is all about fandom, and this unprecedented move from the streaming-first media company suggests that Netflix recognizes that the film’s audience is craving the collective experience that only theaters can provide.
