SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH

An international study has linked later breakfast times to a higher risk of early death among older adults. Researchers tracked 3,000 people aged 42–94, for 35 years, using health and lifestyle questionnaires. They found that as participants aged, they tended to eat both breakfast and dinner later. These shifts were associated with poorer physical and mental health. Most notably, each hour’s delay in eating breakfast was tied to an 8-11% increase in all-cause mortality. But the researchers aren’t saying that eating breakfast later is going to cause you to die. They suggest that as we get older and health problems mount up, we’re more likely to begin eating breakfast later.

BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN

“One Battle After Another” nabbed $22.4 million at the domestic box office over the weekend, a quieter launch than many analysts expected. The Paul Thomas Anderson-directed film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, still managed to take top place, besting DreamWorks’ kid offering “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie”, which earned $13.7 million. The home-invasion continuation “The Strangers: Chapter II,” earned a projected $5.9 million, half what “Chapter I” earned in May 2024.

Lisa Rinna is releasing her first-ever memoir “You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It”. And much like its author, the cover of the memoir is bold and colorful. In a statement, Rinna said: “I don’t know if everyone is ready for all of the truth I am unloading in this book.” The synopsis says: “From her career, to her personal life, to spilling all the tea, if she’s experienced it … you better believe she’s gonna talk about it!” It also quotes Rinna as saying: “This mouth has gotten me in so much trouble.”

DID YA KNOW!?

Electrons might live forever. Scientists have estimated the minimum lifetime of the electron is about 6.6 × 1028 years – this is 66,000 ‘yottayears’. Since this is about 5 quintillion times the age of the Universe, even if electrons don’t live forever, they may as well do!

SCOOP OF THE DAY

A study found that 10% of us claim to have never eaten a hot dog.

According to the Hotels.com 2025 Hotel Room Innsights report, hotel tech is evolving fast. Today, many rooms feature practical “ComfortTech” upgrades like smart TVs with streaming, customizable lighting, fast Wi-Fi, smart fans, and even AI-powered concierge or chatbot services. Bathrooms are also going high-tech, with smart mirrors displaying news and weather, motion-sensor faucets, color-changing smart showers, and voice-activated bath controls. Looking ahead, hotels are exploring more futuristic innovations, including robot chefs, AI-powered room controls, and enhanced voice-activated services. While automation grows, hotels continue to balance cutting-edge tech with human interaction, keeping check-in and guest support personal.
