The length of your daily walk may matter more for health than hitting a specific step count, according to new research. A large UK study of more than 33,000 mostly inactive adults found that those who walked in longer, uninterrupted stretches had a lower risk of premature death and cardiovascular disease than those who accumulated steps in short bursts. Participants averaged fewer than 8,000 steps a day and were followed for nearly a decade. Benefits increased as walks grew longer, regardless of total steps taken. The effect was strongest among very sedentary people, suggesting a continuous daily walk may be more valuable than chasing step goals.
BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN
“Emily in Paris” isn’t going anywhere! Netflix announced that the hit series starring Lily Collins has been renewed for a 6th season, just weeks after its 10-episode 5th season dropped in December. The news comes as the latest season amassed 26.8M views globally in just 11 days, the streamer revealed. Last season also debuted at #2 on the Global Top 10 English TV list and hit the top 10 in 91 countries, as well as the top spot in 24 of them (including France, of course).
Jack Black revealed during a recent interview that turning down Pixar’s “The Incredibles” is the biggest regret of his acting career. He was offered the chance to voice the movie’s villain role ‘Syndrome’, but passed because he had never heard of director Brad Bird, whose only previous credit at the time was “The Iron Giant”, and Black wanted script rewrites. He now counts “The Incredibles” among his favorite movies, and said: “I learned a valuable lesson because when that movie came out…I was like, ‘Why was I being so difficult?’”
Miley Cyrus has the best of both worlds. Last year, Cyrus, who rose to fame starring in Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana,” said that fans could expect something iconic for the show’s upcoming 20th anniversary. In a new interview, she confirmed that something major is definitely coming, while pointing to a key feature of her appearance that could be an even bigger hint. When pressed for a little more info, Cyrus said she couldn’t share any details. But before walking away, she pointed to her new hairdo – a ‘Hannah Montana’-esque blonde with bangs.

OF THE DAY
You might be surprised to hear this, but one of the big trends among men for 2026 just might be…sewing. More men are taking up sewing, challenging the long-held idea that it’s a women’s hobby. While interest surged during the COVID lockdowns, its popularity has continued to soar, particularly among younger men using sewing to express personal style, save money, and customize their clothes. Research suggests this isn’t performative masculinity, but a genuine subculture of fashion-focused men. Social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram have helped fuel the movement, while sewing groups offer community and mental-health benefits. The shift also reflects growing concern about sustainability and overconsumption. Although sewing became feminized in the 20th century, men have long played key roles in tailoring and fashion, making today’s resurgence less radical than it appears.

WEIRD NEWS
A rare copy of the comic book that introduced the world to Superman – and also was once stolen from the home of Nicolas Cage – has been sold for a record $15 million. The private deal for “Action Comics No. 1” eclipses the previous record price of $9.1 million for a comic book. The comic, which sold for 10 cents when it came out in 1938, is an anthology of tales about mostly little-known characters. But it also tells, over a few panels, the origin story of Superman’s birth on a dying planet, his journey to Earth, and his decision to “turn his titanic strength into channels that would benefit mankind.”
