Babies should NOT be put in a dark, quiet room for a nap, but rather in a light room with background noise, such as a washing machine. That’s according to Professor Helen Ball, a scientific adviser for the charity The Lullaby Trust, who has carried out sleep research with more than 5,000 parents and babies. She claims that long daytime naps are like “mini night times” that can disrupt babies’ sleep when it is actually time to sleep for the night. Ball believes parents should let babies and toddlers snooze naturally in a light room, with background noise, so they wake up themselves if they have had enough sleep.
BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN
Are you ready for “The Bodyguard: The Remake”? Warner Bros has plans to revamp the 1992 romantic drama thriller that teamed superstars Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. The studio, which released the original, has enlisted Sam Wrench to direct, following his work on the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” film. No casting has been set, but after the first film’s success (it made $411 million worldwide and landed a pair of Oscar nominations), there are many singers who would be interested in playing the singing star – and you can bet that the rumors will begin with Swift.
The trolling ends with Brandon Sklenar. The “It Ends With Us” star hilariously clapped back at someone who described him as “Walmart Glen Powell.” The commenter left the rude remark beneath an Instagram clip posted by MTV, showing the actor promoting his new thriller flick, “Drop.” Taking the remark in his stride, Sklenar sassily responded: “Who doesn’t love a bargain?” The social media troll was won over by Sklenar’s quip, responding: “Rlly don’t know u from any movies yet but you’ve just gained a supporter.”

OF THE DAY
Apple has quietly added 8 new emojis (or if you want to get technical, “emoji”, but who says that?) as part of its iOS 18.4 update. And there’s one face that many have already decided is their new favorite. That would be the exhausted-looking “face with bags under eyes”. I can see where that would come in handy. The new list also includes a harp, a shovel, a leafless tree and a root vegetable. Some stranger choices for new emojis include the purple “splatter”, a bright blue fingerprint, and the flag of Sark. Sark is a small Channel Island with a population of just 500. All are available on the as part of the iOS 18.4 update, which was launched Monday. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/4ec8eazp
Like it or not, a staple of late-aughts millennial fashion is back. “Jeggings” (leggings that look like jeans) are getting a second life thanks to the retailer Uniqlo, which has debuted its new line of stretchy denim. A post promoting the $50 unisex EZY Ultra Stretch Jeans notes the skinny denim comes in 5 colors and has the “feel of sweats”. Commenters boldly declared that the 2000s-era “jeggings” were officially “back.” Even better – or worse, depending on your viewpoint, the return of jeggings coincides with the revival of skinny jeans.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
If you have a favorite quote.... you can send it to us at the bottom of the page at JohnAndHeidiShow.com
“Even if I wanted to go, my schedule wouldn’t allow it. 4:00, wallow in self pity; 4:30, stare into the abyss; 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one; 5:30, Jazzercise; 6:30, dinner with me — I can’t cancel that again; 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing...I’m booked.” — The Grinch, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”

WEIRD NEWS
It a crappy job, but for someone, it could be worth millions. NASA is officially tired of space poop just floating around out there, so they’re offering $3 million to anyone who can (ahem!) crack the code on turning astronaut waste – that would include feces, urine and vomit — into something more useful than…well, what it currently is. Enter the LunaRecycle Challenge, NASA’s public call for tech-savvy (and possibly very brave) people to come up with a way to recycle all the bodily leftovers astronauts produce on the moon and during deep space missions. Why? Because there are already 96 bags of human waste laying on the moon from the Apollo days, and NASA would rather not add more to the lunar landfill. The end-goal is to create a high-tech system that transforms all that yuck into something useful and sustainable — that won’t make future moon bases smell like a porta-potty in July. They’re now sifting through the first wave of proposals and, eventually, the top idea will snag the $3 million prize.

THE LIST
Uber released its annual “Lost & Found Index,” an run-down of items left behind in its ride-share cars. The 2025 list revealed the most commonly left-behind items were phones, keys and wallets. But what’s always fun is hearing about the most-unexpected things that Uber riders have left behind. Some of the most “unique” items included a mannequin head with human hair, a chainsaw, a “Ghostbusters” ghost trap, fresh breast milk, a live pet turtle, a urinal, a set of ‘Shrek’ ears, 15 hookahs, a bouquet of 100 red roses, Ozempic, 10 live lobsters, a Viking drinking horn, a taxidermied rabbit, and someone’s divorce papers. If its food you’re looking to lose, apparently a ride-share vehicle is a good place to do that, too. Food-related items included a 5-gallon bucket of beans, 175 hamburger sliders, 108 eggs, 24 cans of corn, a “bucket” of feta cheese – and a mini-fridge. The reports also indicated that a number of high-end liquors, like Don Julio 1942, Casa Azul and Grey Goose “didn’t make it to their final destinations”, either.
