Today we visit with Bill Farmer and Bret Iwan, the voices of Goofy and Mickey Mouse!
Disney Jr. and Disney+ has new episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, a continuation of the global hit series that aired from 2006 to 2016, offering preschoolers and their families all new adventures with Mickey, Minnie and their pals.
We visit about the new series with Disney Legend Bill Farmer who’s been the voice of Goofy and Pluto for nearly 30 years (as well as literally thousands of additional voice roles in films such as Toy Story, Cars and Monsters Inc. to name just a few) and Bret Iwan, who is just the fourth person to voice the most famous character in the world, Mickey Mouse (the first being Walt Disney himself).

Which would you choose? Love or money? According to a new survey, 46% of Gen Z would choose long-term financial stability over romance, and nearly a third would take back a wealthy ex. The poll of 1,000 Americans by matchmaking service Tawkify found that 1 in 10 Gen Z women want a partner earning at least $200,000, with most setting a minimum of $80,000. Gen X was the most financially cautious, with 52% saying they’d pick money over love, while Millennials leaned toward love, with 59% preferring a “broke and magical” relationship. Across all ages, 63% said they’d marry for love despite financial hardship, and 70% said they have stayed in relationships for shared finances. Experts link Gen Z’s pragmatism to economic instability, student debt, and pandemic job losses, although 54% still say love can outweigh money.

The “Trailer Park Boys” rumors are true. Canada’s favorite petty criminals are back with a new season. Shooting on the 13th season of Canadian mockumentary has wrapped in Nova Scotia. This confirms speculation that’s run wild this year after star and TPB co-owner Mike Smith said the show was returning, while in character during a social media appearance earlier this year. The new season, the show’s first since 2018, is expected in time for the series’ 25th birthday in April 2026.
Aubrey Plaza’s call sheet is about to get a lot longer, as she’s come on to produce and star in “The Heidi Fleiss Story.” Plaza will portray the infamous “Hollywood madam” Heidi Fleiss, who was busted in the early ‘90s for what was said to be the world’s largest high-end prostitution ring – which implicated Hollywood, politicians and other power figures.
“Hamilton” is getting even bigger. In celebration of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway sensation’s 10th anniversary, Disney will be releasing their feature-film version on September 5. It premiered on Disney+ in 2020. This version of the Tony, Grammy, Emmy and Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton “expands upon the version available on Disney+ with the inclusion of ‘Reuniting the Revolution,’ an exclusive…prologue to the film featuring all-new interviews with the original cast and creators as they reflect on the impact the show has had on their lives.”

Sound can be minus decibels. The quietest place on Earth is Microsoft’s anechoic chamber in Redmond, WA, USA, at -20.6 decibels. These anechoic chambers are built out of heavy concrete and brick and are mounted on springs to stop vibrations from getting in through the floor.

This week back in 1887, Thomas Edison invented the phonograph. Edison also invented the light bulb.
Don’t panic! Yes, wasps do sting – and yes, its sting hurts. But these misunderstood insects deserve more credit, according to Seirian Sumner, professor of behavioral ecology at University College London, who says there is more to wasps than meets the eye. Wasps are natural pest controllers, feasting on spiders, beetles, aphids, and other garden threats. She says that if you dislike spiders, you might owe wasps a thank-you. Just as bees once had an image problem, wasps are due for a rebrand. They’re pollinators, too, sipping nectar daily, even if they lack the fuzzy charm of the bumblebee. Let them enjoy your flowers, and they’ll return the favor by keeping pests in check. If you’re still skeptical, Sumner has more surprising reasons to give wasps a second chance – from a safe distance, of course. One of them is the potential for wasp venom to be used as a cure for cancer. One study showed that a Brazilian wasp venom can kill cancer cells without harming surrounding healthy cells.

Montreal-based Stingray Group believes in-car karaoke is poised to become the next must-have feature in vehicles worldwide. CEO Eric Boyko says “every car” will soon have it, tapping into the joy of singing together while on the road. Already supplying karaoke systems to Tesla, Ford, Audi, and BYD, Stingray expects $10 million in sales from the segment this year. Its recent purchase of Singing Machine adds exclusive microphones, pitch correction, and a vast karaoke catalog to the mix. The vision is to turn ordinary commutes into singalongs, making karaoke as common as Bluetooth. With talks underway with multiple automakers, Stingray plans to bundle playlists, radio, and podcasts, aiming to be the go-to in-car entertainment provider, and has big plans to make dashboard duets the next global driving trend.

WEIRD THINGS YOU CAN BRING ON AN AIRPLANE:
We’re not sure why you WOULD, but here are some of the weirdest things that won’t even cause TSA agents (in the US) to blink if you push them through security…
Parachutes – TSA’s fine with it; the rest of the passengers might NOT be…
Human bones – Just label them properly
Live fish (and lobsters) – Your seatmate may not appreciate the in-flight aquarium.
Geiger counter – Because who doesn’t want to check their radiation levels mid-flight?
Shock collars – For your dog, hopefully.
Eggs – TSA’s cool with them, omelette’s on you.
Antlers – Yes, even those can fly.
Knitting needles – Apparently safer than shampoo.
Swords – You must sheath them, check them, and resist any swashbuckling urges.
Body armor – Allowed in your bag, not on your body.
Laser pointers – Just… don’t aim them at the cockpit!
Spurs – Yeehaw at 35,000 feet!
