Young adults today are surprisingly comfortable bringing money matters to the dinner table — literally. A new survey finds that half of Gen Z and millennials say they find it attractive when dates share income details, a sharp contrast to just 23% of baby boomers and 37% of Gen X. Younger daters see financial openness as practical, while older generations still treat money as a matter too private for early conversations. The shift reflects broader changes: Gen Z is more open to splitting costs or letting the planner pay, while boomers remain tied to traditional expectations that men should cover the bill.

James Gunn, who now presides over DC Studios with producer Peter Safran, has shared that a “Superman” sequel, called “Man of Tomorrow,” will arrive in theaters July 9, 2027. He posted an image of ‘Superman’ and ‘Lex Luthor’ standing together, with Luthor in a purple-and-green power suit with his fists clenched. The 2015 artwork, drawn by Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics Jim Lee, shows Superman holding a screwdriver, smiling and leaning on Luthor. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/ynw7mua9
Nearly 3 decades after beloved funnyman John Candy‘s passing, his children made a heartwarming appearance that left fans celebrating their striking resemblance to their late father. Christopher and Jennifer Candy made a rare red-carpet appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival for the world premiere of “John Candy: I Like Me”, a docu-tribute produced by Ryan Reynolds. During interviews, they offered touching insights into the man behind the comedy legend. Christopher spoke about the values his father instilled, emphasizing John’s character beyond his comedic persona.
Ryan Reynolds is under fire after fans accused him of being “condescending” toward a child reporter during the Toronto International Film Festival. In the now-viral clip, Reynolds is seen greeting the kid reporter, named Liam, with, “Hi, what’s the question?” before the young interviewer even had the chance to introduce himself. When the child politely said, “Hi Ryan, nice to meet you,” Reynolds grinned and replied, “Nice to meet you too, let’s skip to the question.” The “Deadpool” star laughed as he delivered the line, but onlookers appeared unsure of how to react. DID YA KNOW!?
Platypuses sweat milk. This is because it doesn't have teats. Milk appears as sweat on a platypus, but it's an aquatic mammal so it doesn't actually sweat at all.

OF THE DAY
If it feels like you’re seeing gambling ads every 10 seconds during sports, you’re not far off. A University of Bristol analysis found they actually occurred every 13 seconds during this year’s NHL Stanley Cup Finals. The most frequent messaging was found on visual displays like rinkside boards, with commercials also contributing to the frequency. Researchers analyzed this year’s Cup Finals matches and the NBA Finals, and found that of 6,282 instances of gambling-related marketing, 94% occurred during hockey games – probably because the NBA Finals also streamed on YouTube, which has stricter limits on gambling ads.
An Ottawa man has broken the world record for most steps on Stairmaster in 24 hours. At a Goodlife Fitness location, Helkat Jaffer completed 111,285 steps on a Stairmaster in 24 hours, surpassing the previous record of 108,887. With friends, family, and community members cheering him on, Jaffer broke the mark with 30 minutes to spare, but kept going to finish the full day. Proceeds from his effort went to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, where Jaffer was once a member.

WEIRD NEWS
A café in Spain was set on fire, apparently by a customer who was angry that they had no mayonnaise. The man, in his 50s, had ordered sandwiches with his son, and reportedly became enraged when staff repeatedly said the condiment was unavailable. He left, visited a gas station, then doused the bar with fuel, and ignited it. The café, packed with patrons, was evacuated, and staff quickly extinguished the flames. The man suffered a burn to his hand, and was soon arrested. Damage totaled about $9,500, and no one else was injured.
