A new survey suggests filling up the tank isn’t so simple for young drivers. Online car retailer Cazoo found that 65% of 18-24-year-olds suffer from “refuel anxiety,” nearly double the overall 39% of drivers. Beyond high fuel prices, fears include parking too far from the pump, choosing the wrong fuel, or mishandling the nozzle — all tied to a dread of making mistakes in public. Hygiene worries and long lines add to the stress. Many respondents admitted to delaying refuelling until their tank was nearly empty, and some even ran out of gas as a result. Over two-thirds said they have asked friends or family to refuel for them.
BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN
Subtitles aren’t just for foreign films anymore. They’re becoming a fixture of everyday viewing – and not just for the elderly. A new AP-NORC poll finds that younger adults often use captions while multitasking, scrolling their phones, or watching in noisy spaces. Older viewers, on the other hand, tend to turn them on to better hear dialogue, understand tricky accents, or to compensate for hearing loss. Sound experts note that today’s TV mixes are packed with booming effects and subtle performances, making dialogue harder to follow. About 4 in 10 adults under 45 say they often use subtitles, compared with 3 in 10 older than 45. Fifty-five per cent said they use them because they want to catch every word, while others blame poor audio or background noise.
DID YA KNOW!?
Glass sponges can live for 15,000 years. This makes them one of the longest-living organisms on Earth. The immortal jellyfish, however, could theoretically live forever (but scientists aren’t sure)

OF THE DAY
I don’t want to put a damper on your day, but there’s an asteroid spiraling through space…and it has a 4.3% chance of colliding with the moon in 2032. And perhaps even more alarming is THIS: Some scientists are pondering whether it would be a good idea to hit it with a nuclear bomb. A recent paper published by more than a dozen researchers, including several NASA scientists, came up with the “nuke it”, option, along with the idea of nudging the space rock, known as “2024 YR4” into another trajectory before it strikes. Asteroid 2024 YR4 was first detected in December. NASA estimates that it measures up to 220 feet across, large enough to be considered a “city killer”. A collision with the moon would cause a dangerous debris field. But hitting it with a nuclear bomb would come with its own risks, and has never been attempted before. More research will be done on 2024 YR4 before a decision is made.

Competing under the name “Legi0n”, she defeated 3 opponents — including her husband — while holding newborn Cereza. Legi0n joked: “I only won because she coached me mid-set”. Her victory earned her a $28 prize and a trip to the DreamHack Atlanta gaming festival later this month.

THE LIST
LAUNDRY “DON’T” LIST:
How many of these laundry “don’ts” do you do?
• Avoid Mixing Towels and Clothes – Towels shed lint and need more drying time, which can damage clothes.
• Never Use Too Much Fabric Softener – It leaves residue that reduces absorbency and can irritate skin.
• Do Not Skip Turning Clothes Inside Out – It protects colors and prints from fading and friction damage.
• Avoid Washing Everything in Cold Water – Some fabrics and stains need warm or hot water to clean properly.
• Never Skip the Lint Trap – A clogged one reduces efficiency and can be a fire hazard.
• Do Not Overload the Washing Machine – That prevents clothes from getting fully cleaned and stresses the motor.
• Avoid Using Excessive Detergent – That leaves buildup on fabric and inside the machine
• Never Leave Wet Clothes in the Washer – They can smell musty and even grow mold within hours.
• Avoid Using Hot Water on Delicates – Heat can shrink, warp, or weaken delicate fabrics.
• Never Forget to Pre-Treat Stains – Once set by heat, stains become nearly impossible to remove.
• Avoid Drying on High Heat – Excess heat shrinks clothes, melts elastic, and wears out fabrics faster.
• Never Mix Lights and Darks – Dark dyes can bleed and ruin lighter fabrics.
• Do Not Neglect Regular Washer Maintenance – A dirty washer grows mold and bacteria, making “clean” laundry smell bad.
