SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH
A new study suggests that the rising “sleep divorce” trend – where couples sleep in separate beds, or separate rooms – may have downsides for mental health. Researchers in Taiwan surveyed 860 older heterosexual couples and found that those who slept apart reported lower psychological well-being, including less happiness and life satisfaction, than couples who shared a bed. Experts say this may reflect the emotional benefits of physical closeness, such as reduced stress and stronger feelings of connection. Still, sleep specialists emphasize that the best setup depends on each couple’s needs, as sharing a bed doesn’t work for everyone. Couples who choose to sleep apart can still nurture connection by sharing an evening wind-down routine before heading off to separate sleeping quarters.

After discovering that a potential “Star Wars” project titled “The Hunt for Ben Solo” was shelved back in 2021, fans are rallying for Disney to reconsider the decision, with a new billboard in New York City. Days after fans paid for a plane to fly a banner reading “Save The Hunt for Ben Solo” over Disney Studios in California, a billboard popped on Broadway, reading: “For Adam. No one’s ever really gone. Hope lives. Ben is alive!”
“Only Murders in the Building” has been renewed for its 6th season at Hulu, which will be set and shot in London. The news came on the same day of the release of the Season 5 finale. The series follows ‘Charles-Haden Savage’ (Steve Martin), ‘Oliver Putnam’ (Martin Short) and ‘Mabel Mora’ (Selena Gomez), 3 residents of an Upper West Side building called the Arconia who run a podcast together, as they investigate the deaths that keep happening in their home.

You Know... Octopuses Have Three Hearts?
Octopuses are fascinating
creatures, and one of the strangest things about them is that they
have three hearts! Two hearts pump blood to the gills, while the
third pumps it to the rest of the body. Interestingly, when an
octopus swims, the heart that delivers blood to the body actually
stops beating, which is why these creatures prefer crawling to
swimming—it’s less tiring.

OF THE DAY
A new global survey reveals that most people struggle to tell the difference between an AI-generated phishing email and a legitimate, human-written one. Out of 18,000 adults across 9 countries, only 46% correctly identified a phishing attempt as AI-written, while the rest either believed it was authentic…or they weren’t sure. Interestingly, age played little role, with Gen Z, millennials, Gen X, and boomers scoring almost identically. The findings, part of Yubico’s Global State of Authentication Survey for Cybersecurity Awareness Month, show that human error remains a major weakness in digital security. The most common information people accidentally disclosed to phishers is their email address (29% personal, work 21%), their full name (22% personal, 16% work), and phone numbers (21% personal, 15% work). Some other key stats:
• 44% interacted with phishing in the past year; 13% in the past week
• Gen Z is the age group most at risk (62% interacted with phishing)
• The most common phishing vectors are: emails (51%), texts (27%), social media (20%)
• 50% are currently logged into work accounts on personal devices

WEIRD NEWS
With the average American wedding now costing more than $30,000, many couples are open to the idea of getting brand sponsorship to help foot the bill. A new Talker Research survey found that 6 in 10 said they’d consider a corporate sponsor for their big day — and not just on the cocktail napkins. If a brand covered all their wedding costs, 1 in 3 said they’d even invite the company’s mascot as a guest…and 1 in 5 said they’d even let it officiate. Some would go further still: 1 in 6 said they’d wear a logo on their wedding dress. For many, it seems love — and branding — are in the air…but 37% said no amount of money would persuade them to include brand sponsorship.

THE LIST
THINGS YOUR DENTIST WISHES YOU’D STOP DOING AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:
This is according to a panel of dentists, orthodontists and cosmetic dentists…
☞ Lying About Brushing or Flossing
Many patients exaggerate their hygiene habits, but gums reveal the truth. Dentists prefer honesty so they can actually help improve your oral health.
☞ Saying You Wear a Device More Than You Do
Claiming you always wear your aligners or retainers when you don’t only slows progress. Being honest helps your orthodontist adjust your treatment effectively.
☞ Showing Up Late
Arriving late disrupts tightly timed schedules. A quick call if you’re running behind keeps care efficient for everyone.
☞ Skipping the Appointment Altogether
No-shows waste valuable appointment slots. Letting the office know in advance allows them to help another patient instead.
☞ Walk-Ins and Last-Minute Drop-By Visits
Dental care requires planning. Popping in without notice can derail the day’s schedule. Always call ahead, especially in emergencies.
☞ Trying to Talk During Treatment
Chatting…or worse, taking phone calls while someone’s working in your mouth is unsafe and distracting. Silence your phone and communicate with gestures if needed.
☞ Being Negative
Starting with “I hate the dentist” or complaining about costs sets a bad tone. Share concerns calmly so your dentist can make the visit more comfortable and productive.
☞ Taking Your Shoes Off
Removing
your shoes may feel cozy, but it’s unhygienic. Remember: the dental
chair is a medical space, not your living room.
