SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH

They say that after a while, dogs and their owners start to look alike. And it turns out, they start to share the same personality, too. According to a new survey, 81% of those with dogs feel it was “meant to be” that they ended up with their pet, and 74% say their pup mirrors them in energy, social habits, and emotional sensitivity. Introverts tend to report shy, calm, or cautious dogs, while extroverts are far more likely to have friendly, affectionate, energetic pups. Two-thirds even call their dog an “emotional twin,” and over half describe their pet as a “soulmate”. Overall, the research highlights a deep emotional bond – and shows that our dogs often reflect who we are. Here are the top traits that people said they share with their dogs, in order…

BIG SCREEN-LITTLE SCREEN

The Jim Henson Company, in partnership with Julien’s Auctions, concluded its landmark sale on Tuesday, netting a massive $2.6 million. The first of its kind event offered fans a chance to own original pieces from “Fraggle Rock”, “Labyrinth”, multiple Muppet productions, Jim Henson’s wardrobe, and more. The marquee item of the auction was the full-size Crystal of Truth seen in the prequel series: “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance”. The translucent crystal purple prop that served as the heart and source of all life sold for $89,600, well over its original estimate of $20,000. Proceeds will support the work of The Jim Henson Company’s Archives.

Jennifer Lopez, who has worn 6 engagement rings in her lifetime, perhaps making her something of an expert, is the new face of jewelry company Zen Diamond. The 4-times-divorced diva is being paid $10 million to hawk sparklers for the Turkish brand. And get this: that’s considered a low-figure endorsement deal for the superstar. According to a source, J Lo is “used to close much bigger deals. She used to get paid…$20, $30 even $50 million for endorsements.” In real life Lopez is single, after divorcing Ben Affleck in 2024.

Michael B. Jordan has confirmed that the “Creed” franchise is expanding, both on the big screen and in television. While fans are eagerly waiting for “Creed IV”, Jordan revealed that the story will continue in a spin-off series focused on ‘Adonis Creed’s’ daughter, ‘Amara’. The show has been picked up by Amazon and will explore her journey within the “Creed-verse,” a term Jordan uses for the franchise’s growing universe. He also confirmed again that the 4th Creed movie is definitely coming.

Some of these sharks can live for more than 500 years, making them the longest-living animals known to science. Their slow metabolism and frigid Arctic habitat contribute to their incredible lifespan.

SCOOP OF THE DAY

According to some reports, the US government is considering raising the retirement age to 70

This holiday season, some of the hottest toys aren’t for kids – they’re for grown-ups. And only those with deep pockets. American Girl’s limited-edition “Wicked” Collector Series dolls, featuring ‘Glinda’, inspired by Ariana Grande, and ‘Elphaba’, modeled after Cynthia Erivo’s character in the films, sold out almost immediately, with resales on eBay going for up to $2,000. Only 6,800 Glindas and 6,000 Elphabas were made, making them rare collector items. Fans have been posting unboxing videos, displaying glittering gowns, bendable limbs, and microbraids, and now, even the dolls’ pajama sets are up for sale for hundreds of dollars online. Originally sold for $295 each, the Wicked collectables have sparked a frenzy reminiscent of Tickle Me Elmo mania – but this time it’s 20-somethings, nostalgia, and social media clout that’s driving the magic, proving that in 2025, the hottest holiday accessory may just be disposable income. Black Friday chaos hit Walmart when Kraft’s limited-edition “Mac Friday Box” vanished in seconds. The novelty item, designed to look like a 65-inch flat-screen TV, featured 65 boxes of classic Kraft Mac & Cheese inside, and went on sale via the Walmart website at midnight Friday. Of course, the “KDTV” drew huge hype from influencers and bargain hunters. Many shoppers camped on the Walmart site for hours. But when midnight struck, the item, priced at $19.37, sold out instantly, leaving some to complain that it disappeared from their carts just as they tried to pay. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/yc4umb45
