SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH
If you had to decide on your last meal, what meat would it include? According to a new survey, nearly two-thirds of us would pick steak. In the poll, taken in the US, 70% said they consider themselves meat-lovers, with men slightly more enthusiastic than women. But, it seems, we’re not just passionate about steak…we’re also picky. 41% said they judge anyone who orders a well-done steak, and one in 3 say it’s a dating red flag. Most prefer their steak medium or medium-rare, and 78% insist it should be grilled. Ketchup is another minefield: 42% would criticize a date for using it. BTW, Ribeye ranks as the favorite cut. Some more findings from the poll…
• 40% say A1 is their go-to sauce
• 13% prefer BBQ
• 10% choose Worcestershire
• Despite the negative vibes, 1 in 20 still wants ketchup
• The fav cuts, in order, are ribeye (61%), filet (47%), T-bone (43%)

Doing even better than projected pre-launch, “Wicked: For Good” took in an estimated $150 million domestically, and about $228 million worldwide in its opening weekend. That beats the first “Wicked”, which debuted to $125 million domestically and $164M globally. Wicked: For Good is now the biggest worldwide Broadway musical adaptation opener ever, the #4 Hollywood opener of 2025 and scored the 5th biggest global start for a musical of all time.
Simon Cowell, best known in North America for starring in “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent”, has been instrumental in the success of bands such as Westlife, One Direction and Little Mix. And now, he’s looking for his next boy band in Netflix docuseries “Simon Cowell: The Next Act”. Cameras are following him in his journey, starting with open casting calls, to the release of a debut single, by bringing together 16 boys in Miami. In the trailer, Cowell says: “As much as I love my job on TV, I miss where I started, signing artists and working with bands.” The series will premiere December 10. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/4b7eymw6
Ask, and you shall receive, especially if you’re commenting on Kate Hudson’s TikTok. Hudson and Hugh Jackman have been joined at the hip lately while promoting their new film “Song Sung Blue”. So, when one follower asked: “Pleeeeaaaase can you get Hugh to do a TikTok with you,” the internet was collectively delighted to see her deliver. Saturday, she posted a clip while munching on popcorn. In it, she says: “Hey Hugh. Say hi.” She flips the camera to Jackman, who smiles, waves, and gives a casual: “Oh, hi.” Hudson gives a quick smile and the video ends. Even though it only lasted a few seconds, the comments came in fast. One of them reads: “Proof that Kate reads our comments”. Another joked: “Now it’s time to teach Hugh how to use TikTok”. DID YA KNOW!?
Did You Know... The presence of Batman makes people behave better. In a study on busy trains, researchers found that only about 37% of passengers gave up their seats to a pregnant woman. That is, until a man dressed as Batman entered the picture. With Batman aboard, that number jumped to more than 67%, even though many riders didn’t consciously notice him. The so-called “Batman effect” suggests that a surprising or unusual moment can jolt people out of autopilot and inspire more prosocial, helpful behavior. The researchers hope their findings might someday assist in strategies to promote altruistic behaviors in daily life.

Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook will be smarter than humans in 10 years.
OpenAI has introduced what some are calling a bizarre new feature for ChatGPT. “Group Chats” allow up to 20 users to join a shared conversation with the chatbot. Rolling out globally now to all logged-in users, the company says it can be used as a tool for planning trips, for collaborating on school or work projects, and organizing shared info, with ChatGPT acting as a helpful assistant. Of course, it could also lead to other, less wholesome uses…like teens ganging up to pester the bot, or friends fact-checking each other to death. OpenAI says group chats won’t use personal memory, and promises more privacy controls ahead. They say the Group Chat feature aims to make ChatGPT feel more social and collaborative, rather than a solo tool. To use the feature, tap the people icon in the upper right-hand corner. Up to 20 different users can be added.

WEIRD NEWS
OK – Weird question here: Would you use a garlic mouthwash? The clove, which has been eaten for its medicinal powers for centuries, may help fight bad breath, according to a new study. Researchers at the University of Sharjah (UAE) reviewed 5 studies comparing garlic extract mouthwash to chlorhexidine (CHX), a common antiseptic. They found that a 3% garlic extract was nearly as effective, and in some cases superior, at reducing salivary bacteria over the course of a week. Garlic’s antimicrobial effects are largely due to allicin, formed when cloves are crushed. While it can’t match CHX against some disease-causing microbes, it shows promise against drug-resistant bacteria. Drawbacks include, of course, a strong taste, plus a burning sensation, but for those seeking a natural alternative, garlic may be a viable mouthwash option.

THE LIST
Nordpass has released its annual list of the most-used computer passwords, and some of the old favs lead the pack, again. What’s surprising is this: The new report found that younger people often use weaker passwords than older generations, despite growing up online. NordPass analyzed global breach data and found that many people still rely on simple logins like “admin,” “123456,” “password,” and even “1hateyou.” Worldwide, “123456” remains the top password. Gen Z and millennials tend to use basic number strings, while older users prefer names like “Veronica,” “Maria,” and “Susana,” often paired with numbers. The most common special character is “@,” as in “P@ssw0rd.” Experts warn weak or reused passwords drive most breaches. Safety tips include using long passPHRASES, mixing cases and symbols, enabling multi-factor authentication, and trying passkeys or biometrics for stronger protection.
The most popular passwords, worldwide:
1. 123456
2. admin
3. 12345678
4. 123456789
5. 12345
6. password
7. Aa123456
8. 1234567890
9. Pass@123
